The Junior Red Cross Unit organized a celebration of "Philo Aatida Kuuta" at St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, on August 2nd , 2025. The event showcased Tuluva traditional foods and cultural reflections, highlighting the rich heritage and diversity of the region.
The dignitaries inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The President, Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions emphasized the importance of preserving and protecting our Tulu Nadu tradition. He highlighted that Aati, a special month once celebrated with great fervor, has lost its significance over time. Stressing the need to hold on to our cultural heritage, he urged everyone ,not to forget our traditions and language.
The Chief Guest, renowned actor and comedian Mr. Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, fondly known as Navarasa Raaj, said that every student has a special talent that should be identified. Teachers should support and guide students in all their steps, as God has blessed each one with unique abilities. Additionally, he emphasized that students should respect their parents and teachers, who play a vital role in shaping their future.
The Guest of Honour, Rev.Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur emphasized that Aati Kuuta is an integral part of our tradition, and it's essential for us to preserve and honor our cultural heritage. He encouraged everyone to cherish and uphold our unique traditions.

The programme was co ordinated by the convenors of Philo Red Cross Unit - Mrs Jyothi M.,Dept of Sociology and Mr Rajesh Moolya, Physical Education Director.
