To commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Dakshina Kannada District Police, Puttur, in collaboration with the Sub-Divisional Police Department and St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, organized an awareness program on Drug Abuse on June 26, 2025.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police,Mr Arun Nagegowda emphasized the need to create awareness among children about the dangers of drug abuse and its ill effects. He also raised awareness among students about the risks associated with drugs.
The Chief Guest ,Dr Prashanth, Ayurvedic Hospital warned that today's youth are falling prey to drug addiction. He emphasized the importance of motivating students to engage in various activities as a preventive measure against drug abuse.
The Principal , Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan inaugurated the rally. Students actively participated by displaying anti-drug placards, showcasing their commitment to the cause.
Mr Johnson D'Souza Inspector of Puttur City Police Station, Traffic Police Sub-Inspector ,Mr Udaya Ravi, Sub-Inspector ,Mr Jambu Raj of Sampya Police Station and Mr Johnson, staff of Patrao Hospital and other staff from Puttur Police Station were present on the occasion.
The program commenced with a prayer by the students. Rev Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal welcomed the gathering. The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Puttur City Police Sub-Inspector, Mr Anjaneya Reddy.
