In his homily, Rev. Fr Merwyn Loyd Fernandes, SJ, reflected on the significance of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He said, “Today, we have gathered to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a solemnity that invites us to reflect deeply on the infinite love and mercy of our Lord. Let us remember that the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a call to intimacy with God. It is an invitation to immerse ourselves in His love, to be renewed by His mercy, and to be enkindled with His zeal. Let us strive to make our hearts more like His—loving, merciful, and zealous for the Kingdom of God. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless each one of us, drawing us closer to His love and empowering us to be His heart in the world.”
Following the Mass, Fr Merwyn Loyd Fernandes addressed the students on AICUF (All India Catholic University Federation), explaining its motto, objectives, and importance. He highlighted the vital role AICUF plays in shaping students into responsible, socially conscious and committed citizens.
