An Awareness Programme on "Healthy Minds, Bright Future: The power of wise choices in adolescence" at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.

Child Protection Cell of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur organized an

awareness programme on

"Healthy Minds, Bright Future: The power of wise choices in adolescence" on 16th June 2026.

The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta Principal, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur said that the programme provides a unique opportunity for students to build a bright and successful future. He emphasized that every student should have a clear aim in life and strive to lead a disciplined and meaningful life by managing their day-to-day activities responsibly. He also pointed out that certain negative influences and harmful practices can damage one's future. Therefore, it is important for students to be aware of the challenges and developments taking place around them. He encouraged students to be cautious and responsible so that they can safeguard their future and achieve their goals.

The Chief Guest, Mrs Joslyn Fernandes, Excise Inspector at Puttur Subdivision advised students to make wise decisions and take good care of their health. According to her, a healthy body is one in which the mind, body, and soul work in harmony. She emphasized that the mind is a powerful force that can transform one's life within moments. Therefore, students should think about their future goals and honour their parents by achieving them. She encouraged students to give positive affirmations to their minds and explained that a healthy mind is one that is free from negativity and filled with positive thoughts. She also advised students to cultivate the habit of reading books, describing them as the best companions and sources of knowledge. She encouraged them to learn new skills, perform acts of kindness, speak politely to others, and help people through noble deeds such as organ donation. Concluding her address, she strongly advised students to stay away from drugs and lead a healthy, purposeful life.

The programme was co ordinated by Dr Asha Savithri P and Mr Rama Naik, Convenors of Child Protection Cell.

Mr Rama Naik, Dept of Kannada welcomed the gathering. Gawtham M ( II SEBA-B) proposed vote of thanks. Amal ( II PCMC- D ) compered the programme.
