Students from St Philomena P.U. College , Puttur had a successful run at the D.K. District Junior Athletic Meet 2024, securing multiple prizes. The event, organized by the Dakshina Kannada Athletics Association, took place at Mangala Stadium in Mangalore on August 31st and September 1st , 2024. The following students achieved notable success.
- Nikhil S.P. of II HEPS won 2nd place in High Jump with a performance of 1.69 meters under the boys 18 category.
- Nischith of I SEBA 'B' secured 2nd place in 110 meters Hurdles with a performance of 16:8 under the boys 18 category.
- Aahray N. of II SCBA secured 3rd place in 110 meters Hurdles with a performance of 17:5 under the boys 18 category.
- Jeevitha of I HEPS secured 3rd place in the Long jump event with a performance of 3.92 meters under the Girls 18 category.
The students' success is attributed to the dedicated training provided by Physical Education Directors Mr. Elias Pinto and Mr. Rajesh Mooliya.
The Correspondent, Very Rev. Fr. Lawrence Mascarenhas, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions and the Principal, Rev. Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements.
