Fine Arts Association of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, organized "Philo Blossom - Talents Hunt" and celebrated Valmiki Jayanti at the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.
The program commenced with the dignitaries inaugurating the event and paying floral tribute to Maharishi Valmiki.
The President, Rev. Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal , St Philomena P.U. College, emphasized the importance of nurturing individual talents. He said, "Every person is born with a unique gift, and it's the students' responsibility to discover and showcase it."
He drew inspiration from Maharishi Valmiki's teachings, highlighting the significance of focusing on
Dharma (Righteous Living),Karma (Selfless Action),Bhakti (Devotion),
Moksha (Liberation).He
noted that remarkable individuals will continue to emerge, bringing transformative change in the society.
The Chief Guest Mr. Pattabhirama, renowned Mimicry Artist from Sullia, presented a wonderful Mimicry show which was a resounding success, as he effortlessly mimicked various voices and styles, showcasing his remarkable talent and captivating the audience's attention."
Eminent judges Mr. Praveen Varnakutira ,Correspondent, Varnakutira Art Education Institute, Kallare and Dr. Dimple Fernandes ,Lecturer in Hindi, St Philomena College, Puttur graced the occasion.
The convenor, Mrs. Ashwini K. (Department of Chemistry), and co-convenors Mr. Rahul (Department of Commerce), Mrs. Rashmi P.S. (Department of Physics), Mr. Rama Naik (Department of Kannada), Ms. Joshila Marita Menezes (Department of Commerce), Ms. Vinola Amitha Lobo (Department of Chemistry), and Mrs. Joella Sheryl Lobo (Department of Chemistry) coordinated the event.
Office bearers Neethi N.B. (II ECBA) and Angika (II PCMB 'C') provided valuable support.
Mrs Usha Yashawanth, Dept of Kannada introduced the guest and Adithi ( II SEBA 'B') spoke about the importance of Valmiki Jayanti.
Prarthana and group rendered the prayer song with heartfelt devotion, setting the tone for a spiritual and uplifting experience."
A spectacular display of talent marked the Mimicry, Mime Show, Group Dance, and Monoact competitions, with prizes presented to the deserving winners.
