A grand re - union programme "Philo - Milan" , was organized at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur on 8th March 2025.
The President, Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions highlighted the institution's dual mission, stating that it strives not only to impart knowledge, but also to provide a platform for students and alumni to showcase their talents and skills. He expressed his hope that this gathering would serve as a catalyst for reigniting connections, fostering meaningful interactions, and celebrating the shared experiences and achievements that unite us.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Principal, Anugraha P.U. College, Ujire, emphasized that this gathering serves as a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reminisce about fond memories, reconnect with faculty members, and fortify bonds.He drew inspiration from the visionary words of Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, who sought to facilitate global communication and foster relationships through technology.He then outlined three key takeaways, aptly coined as the 'Three Ws': Welcoming, Working, and Witnessing. These principles, he noted, would serve as a guiding force for the alumni as they navigate their personal and professional lives.
The Guest of Honour, Mrs Prathima Hegde, Alumni President, St Philomena College ( Autonomous) delivered a heartfelt address, urging everyone to make it a point to return to the institution year after year. She emphasized that since the college has given everyone so much, it's their turn to give back. She cautioned against the pitfalls of today's fast-paced world, where we're often encouraged to move on and detach. Instead, she encouraged the alumni to nurture their relationship with the college, stressing that relationships are one of the greatest wealth we can possess.She concluded by urging everyone to stay connected to the institution and return year after year, fostering a lifelong bond with the college that has played a pivotal role in shaping their lives.
The Guest of Honour, Dr Shriprakash B, Vice President, Parent Teacher Association & Alumnus
said that it's a momentous occasion for all of us to reunite and reminisce about their time at St Philomena P.U. College. He expressed his delight to witness the strong bond that exists among the alumni. As a representative of the Parent Teacher Association, he expressed his joy to see how the institution has shaped the lives of students.
On this momentous occasion, the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Vijay Lobo, Principal of Anugraha P.U. College, Ujire, was honored and felicitated for his outstanding contributions and tireless dedication to this institution, leaving an indelible mark on its growth and development.

The programme was expertly coordinated by the convenors, Mr Bharath Kumar, Dean of Arts Faculty, and Mrs Philomena Monteiro, Department of Commerce.
The programme was further enriched with a vibrant cultural show, featuring captivating performances, and a series of hilarious games that left the audience in stitches, adding a playful and entertaining touch to the celebration.

The Philo-Milan reunion was a resounding success, rekindling memories and strengthening ties among the alumni, faculty and staff of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur.
