General Body meeting of Parent Teacher Association at St Philomena P.U.College ,Puttur.

The annual general body meeting of Parent Teacher Association was held at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur on 05/07/2025 at College auditorium.

The dignitaries inaugurated the meeting by lighting the lamp.

The President, Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions in his presidential remarks

emphasized that parents are responsible for their children's overall development and should encourage their unique talents. He advised parents to be attentive to their children's needs and create a supportive environment. Additionally, he suggested that parents should model good behavior by avoiding distractions like TV and mobile phones during study hours. Most importantly, he stressed the importance of teaching children valuable life lessons and surround them with positivity.

The Resource Person, Mr Durga Parameshwara Bhat,

Psychologist and Counselor, Excel Educational Institute, Guruvayankare emphasized that determination can overcome obstacles, saying 'where there's a will, there's a way.' He noted that stability is fleeting and encouraged allowing students to express themselves freely. Highlighting the issue of mobile phone addiction among students, he advised parents to spend quality time with their children, emphasizing that home is the safest zone for children.

Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College , Puttur highlighted the strong bond between the institution and its stakeholders, proudly mentioning the rich history of the college and remarkable academic achievements. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the institution's rules and regulations.

Dr Shriprakash B, Former Vice President of PTA was felicitated and he emphasized that every child has a unique talent, and it's essential for the parents to recognize and encourage it. Rather than focusing on mistakes, parents should guide their children to learn from them and stay on the right path.

The Secretary, Mrs Ashwini K( Dept of Chemistry)presented the annual report and elected the new office bearers for the academic year 2025 -26.The Treasurer, Mr Sanjay S. ( Dept of Commerce)presented the statement of income and expenditure.
