"PHILO WAVES - 2025" The Blitz of Science at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.

The Department of Science at St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, organized "PHILO WAVES - 2025"- The Blitz of Science, on October 17, 2025.

The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur emphasized that students are provided with foundational knowledge and advised them to explore beyond a single subject. He noted that students today spend more time on mobile devices than reading books. The rise of YouTubers, content creators, and reel makers has become a new career path for many.He stressed the importance of a healthy diet, saying "Good food leads to a better mind, and a better mind leads to a successful life." He also emphasized keeping the mind active and alive by avoiding junk food and other detrimental items, including excessive mobile phone use, which can be destructive.

emphasized the significance of science in today's world, highlighting its centuries-long impact on human knowledge and understanding. He also stressed the importance of artificial intelligence in driving innovation and progress.While noting AI's significant impact on lifestyle, he cautioned against losing sight of human emotions, sentiments and values amidst technological advancements. The shift from reading books to mobile devices requires discernment in consuming information.For true progress, he emphasized the importance of balancing three key aspects: Interest, Knowledge, and Acceptance. These elements must work together in harmony.

POSTEROLIC- Science Poster Making, Innovative-

Minds Science Model Making, Sci-chic - Science Themed Fashion Show and

Sci-Mad- Ad Science Advertisement along with cultural programmes were organized on the occasion.

The programme was coordinated by Mrs Shilpa Emilia Rodrigues, Dept of Mathematics, Mrs Kavitha, Dept of Biology, Mr Harshith Kumar, Dept of Biology and Mrs Savitha Monteiro, Dept of Physics .

Mr Yashawanth M.D, Dean, Dept of Science welcomed the gathering .Thrisha Rai ( II PCMB-C) proposed vote of thanks. Pradhi Clare Pinto ( II PCMB-C) compered the programme.
