Humanities Association organized Career Guidance programme at St Philomena P.U.College Puttur on 28th August 2026.
The President, Rev.Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta Principal ,St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur said that the number of students opting for the Arts stream has declined in recent years. However, he emphasized that Humanities offers a wide range of opportunities and promising career prospects for students. He highlighted that the stream provides scope for pursuing diverse fields and building a bright and successful future.
The Chief Guest, Mr Seetharama Kevala, Principal ( Rtd) ,National Trainer congratulated the students for choosing the Arts stream and encouraged them to take pride in their decision. He gave an interesting interpretation of the word “ARTS”, stating that ‘A’ stands for Awesome, ‘R’ for Real, ‘T’ for Talent and ‘S’ for Show. Through this, he highlighted the creativity, originality and talent associated with the Arts stream.He urged the students to make the best use of the opportunities available to them and emphasized that Arts offers diverse career paths and a wide range of professional opportunities. He explained that the study of human behaviour plays an important role in understanding individuals and its impact on society. He further pointed out that Arts education helps students develop essential skills such as strong communication, problem-solving aptitude, research skills and creative thinking.
He also informed the students about the various industries and professional fields that welcome Arts graduates. He encouraged them to explore their interests, develop their skills and confidently pursue the career path that best suits their talents and aspirations.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Mrs Harinakshi, wife of Mr Seetharama Kevala, whose presence added warmth and significance to the gathering.
The convenors , Mr Sandesh John Lobo, Dept of English and Mrs Geetha Kumari , Dept of Economics co ordinated the programme.
