An Orientation Programme on Banking Aspects at St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur.

An orientation programme on Banking Aspects was organized for the Commerce students of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, on 24th November 2025.

The Resource Person, Mrs Usha V. Nayak, Counsellor at Amulya Financial Literacy Centre, briefed the students on the latest developments in the banking sector. She explained the basic requirements of banking, the growing importance of mobile banking, and the security concerns associated with it. She also highlighted the role of rural banks in national progress and briefly informed students about career opportunities in the banking field.

The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, presided over the programme. In his address, he emphasized that the Commerce Department is constantly evolving and encouraged students to stay updated with the changes taking place in the banking sector. He noted that learning becomes effective when supported with accurate and timely information.

The programme was coordinated by Mr Bharat G. Pai and Mrs Poornima D. S., Convenors of the Commerce Association.

Angel D’Souza (II SEBA-B) welcomed the gathering, Dayan Devaiah (II SEBA-B) proposed the vote of thanks, and Anu B. V. (II SEBA-B) compered the programme.
