An Awareness Programme on AIDS at St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur.
St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, in collaboration with Fr Patrao Hospital, Darbe, and the Government Hospital, Puttur, organised an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS on the occasion of World AIDS Day on 4 December 2025.
The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur, addressed the students and highlighted the importance of awareness and responsible behaviour. He reminded them that a single careless mistake can have lifelong consequences, urging the students to remain cautious and well-informed.
The Resource person, Sr Zuvana, staff member of Fr Patrao Hospital, enlightened the students on HIV/AIDS, explaining how the infection spreads and emphasising the importance of preventive measures.
The Resource person, Mr Tharanath from the ICTC Centre, Government Hospital, Puttur, spoke about HIV/AIDS and further elaborated on the various ways in which it can be prevented.
Mrs Suma D, Department of English, welcomed and compered the programme.
