Kannada Association organized a "Workshop on Public Speaking, Poetry Writing, Story Writing, Anchoring (Event Hosting), and Press Reporting" at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur on 7/10/2026.

The President, Rev. Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena Pre-University College, Puttur , emphasized the importance of giving equal respect and importance to all languages. He said that learning different languages broadens our knowledge and makes communication easier and more effective. He also encouraged the students to learn Kannada, respect its rich heritage, and contribute to the growth and promotion of the Kannada language.

The Resource Person, Mr Udaya Bhaskar, Sullia litterateur, Digital Art Sullia, said that literature cannot simply be learnt; rather, it emerges from within through observation, experience and thought. He emphasized that a writer should possess a good understanding of words and language. Referring to the words of Dr Shivarama Karanth, he said that one should cultivate the qualities of learning and listening, as these qualities eventually find expression through words. He added that while everyone may not become a good writer, everyone can certainly become a good learner and a good listener.

The programme was organized by the Convenor, Mrs Usha A , Dept of Kannada.
