Hindi Day Celebration at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.

The Hindi Sangha of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur, organised Hindi Day Celebration on 11th September, 2026.

The President, Rev.Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur in his address, emphasized the significance of learning languages and stated that every language we acquire enriches our knowledge and proves useful in various situations and at different stages of life. He remarked that a language once learnt remains a lasting part of our knowledge and helps us connect with people and cultures. He further highlighted the close relationship among Indian languages, pointing out the similarities between Hindi and Sanskrit, which reflect the richness and diversity of India’s linguistic heritage.

The Chief Guest,Mr Ramakrishna K. S., Assistant Professor, Government First Grade College, Sullia, in his insightful address, spoke about the importance of language in society. He remarked, “Language is born in society. If a language dies, society itself is responsible for its extinction.” He emphasized the importance of learning both Hindi and English, comparing knowledge of the two languages to the two wheels of a chariot. He encouraged the students to develop strong communication skills, stating that effective communication can open up numerous opportunities in life, even beyond formal academic qualifications. He urged them to acquire proficiency in both languages to build a bright and successful future.He concluded by inspiring the students to learn new languages, observing that learning a new language leads not only to the growth of the language but also to the progress and development of the learner.

The programme was co ordinated by the Convenor , Dr B. Latha,Dept of Hindi .

The programme commenced with a prayer by Khathijathul Shamna and team.

Fathima Riza of (II PCMB-C )welcomed the gathering.Jasmitha (II PCMC-D) introduced the Chief Guest. Vaishnav K S ( II PCMC-D) proposed vote of thanks. Samarth M. R. ( I PCMC-E) compered the programme.
