Farewell Programme " Philo Cheerio" 2026
Farewell programme " Philo Cheerio" was held for II P.U. students on 18/02/2026 at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.
The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur emphasized the importance of hard work. He said that these two words — “hard work” — should stay with the students until they achieve success. He encouraged the students to give importance to personality development along with academics.He stated that St Philomena is an institution that not only focuses on academic excellence but also on the overall development of students. He explained that true education is a transformation from the animal level to the human level. He further stressed that students must build strong character and values so that they can lead a happy, meaningful, and successful life.
The Chief Guest , Mr Seetharama kevala , Principal (Rtd.) ,National Trainer & Coordinator - News Puttur advised the students to be very careful and avoid excessive use of mobile phones, as overuse can be harmful. He reminded them that they have many responsibilities to fulfill in life. He encouraged the students to bring about positive transformation in their lives, as they are living in an Artificial Intelligence–driven world. He emphasized that no field is easy, and even the teaching profession is being influenced and challenged by AI.
He cautioned the students to remain alert and well-prepared to face the challenges that lie ahead, as the future is unpredictable. He urged them to work hard, be self-reliant and develop inner strength. While guidance may come from many sources, he reminded the students that ultimately they must take responsibility for their own lives , decisions and become strong enough to face any situation with confidence and courage.
The programme was co ordinated by the convenors of Student Council, Mr Govinda Prakash C.H, Dean of Commerce, Mrs Philomena Monteiro, Dept of Commerce and Mrs Kavitha, Dept of Biology.
Mr Yashawanth M.D, Dean of Science welcomed the gathering. Mr Bharath Kumar A, Dean of Arts proposed vote of thanks. Mrs Avina Madtha, Dept of Commerce compered the programme.
