Teachers’ day Celebration

Commemorating the birth of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the members of Student Council of St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur  celebrated Teachers’ day  on remembrance of the effort and guidance given by the  Lecturers to make them the best on  05/09/2022  at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall. 
 
The celebration commenced with a soulful prayer song by the students of Performing Arts Association. 
 
The President, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal, St Philomena P.U.College in his presidential address said ,”
Teaching profession is the best profession as it is a unique one. Teachers play a vital role in shaping the personality of the students. A teacher is one who brightens the future of the students”. He advised students to be kind , noble and have a sense of gratitude towards teachers.
 
The Chief Guest,  Mr Shashikumar Rai Balyottu, Former President, Parent Teacher Association said, “Teachers should be appreciated for their selfless service. Students should respect teachers as they are  the  one who mould the behaviour of the students”.
 
The Guest of Honour Rev. Fr Stany Pinto,Campus Director, St Philomena Institutions said ,” A teacher is one who gives shape to human values which further strengthens our society as  humanity and helps it in becoming progressive. A teacher opens the window with thousands of opportunities for students to lead them on a good path in life”.
 
The Chief Guest,  Mr Shashikumar Rai Balyottu, Former President, Parent Teacher Association was felicitated on the occasion for his selfless service during the past 4 years.
 
Rashmi M.D.(II PCMB) Joint Secretary of Student Council spoke about the importance of Teachers’ Day Celebration.
 
Students  performed cultural programmes and conducted various competitions to  both Teaching and administrative staff members  on the occasion. 
 
Mr Prashanth Bhat  and Mrs Philomena Monteiro, Students’ Council Directors guided the members of the office bearers. 
 
Prafulla Jyotsna Noronha (II SCBA) Secretary of Student Council  welcomed the gathering. Shrinivas Hegde M.(II PCMC) President of Student Council proposed Vote of thanks. Anagha S.Rai (II ECBA) compered the programme.
