Teachers’ Day celebration at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.
The President, Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent of Mai De Deus Educational Institutions said ,”The teacher is one who dispels darkness and teach the value of life” He advised students to respect teachers as they are the role models and the duty of a teacher is to spread happiness everywhere.
The Chief Guest, Mr Jayanth Nadubailu, PTA President said that the mother is our first teacher then comes teachers who mould the character of the students . He advised students to always remember the teachers who shape their personality.
The Guest of Honour , Rev Fr Stany Pinto, Campus Director, St Philomena Institutions said that the teacher is one who gives shape to human values which further strengthens our society as humanity and helps it in becoming progressive.

Teaching is a noble profession and a base for all the profession. He said that teachers play the role of a sculptor. Teacher is one who teaches an empty mind and gives a proper shape by building the personality. He motivated teachers to do their duty with pride.He added that teachers are the one who will remain in the hearts and minds of the students. He advised students to be obedient to the teachers.
Rev Fr Roopesh Tauro ,Warden of Boys Hostel, and all the members of the Parent Teacher Association were present on the occasion.

Cultural programme was organized .
Mr Prashanth Bhat and Mrs Philomena Monteiro, Students’ Council Directors guided the members of Students’ Council and the Co ordinators of Fine Arts Association Mrs Ashwini K., Mrs Vanyashree, Mr Rama Naik ,Mrs Rashmi P.S., Mr Rahul and Mrs Joshila Menezes co ordinated the cultural programme. 
Pravan Ponnappa (II PCMB) President, Student Council welcomed the gathering. Pruthvi,K..(II SEBA) Joint Secretary of Student Council proposed Vote of thanks. Sakina (II SEBA) compered the Programmes Muzammil ( II HEPS) and Thanvi K ( II PCMB) compered the cultural programme.
