Pratibha -District Level Inter School Competition

 

Pratibha Day, a One Day District Level Inter School Competition for high school students was organized in St Philomena P.U. college at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall on 7/9/2018.

The programme was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by the dignitariesMr. Balarama Acharya M.D. , G.L. Acharya Jewellers Mangalore, Puttur the Chief Guest said that the students should not only give importance to score good marks. Besides this, they have to even participate in various other competitions which will definitely result in shaping their personality. He encouraged students to bring out creativity and exhibit their talent. He also boosted the students by saying that participation is very important.

The Guest of Honour Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairperson of P.G. studies, St. Philomena College said that everyone has a hidden talent in them. They should recognize it and make proper use of it. He advised students to develop simplicity which is the key for success.

The President, Very Rev. Fr. Alfred J.Pinto, Correspondent St. Philomena Institutions said , “Time and Tide waits for none”. Time is very precious. He advised students not to be distracted by unwanted things. He encouraged students to participate in both curricular and co-curricular activities.

Sinchana Gowda (II SEBA) was felicitated for her great achievement in the field of surfing. She had secured Gold Medal in National Level surfing competition held at Kovalam in Chennai.

PTA President , Durgaprasad Rai and Alumni President, Jayaraj Bhandary were present on the occasion. Hostel wardens Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues, Fr. Sunil Sr. Flora Machado , Mr. Oswald Rodrigues, Headmaster of St. Philomena High School were present on the occasion.

About 27 high school students participated in various competitions.

Rev. Fr. Vijay Lobo, Principal of St. Philomena PU College welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Ashwini K , Dept of Chemistry , Co-ordinator of Pratibha proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Prashanth Bhat P. Dept of Chemistry compeered the programme.
