India’s 77th Independence Day was celebrated at St Philomena P.U.College and St Philomena College, Puttur with gaiety and patriotic fervour.
The Principal, Rev .Ashok Rayan Crasta, St Philomena P.U. College,Puttur hoisted the National flag and said that we should be proud of our country which is rich in culture. He added that we should remember the sacrifice made by many leaders to free India from slavery and we should contribute something good to the country.
The Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Montheiro, St Philomena College said ,” We should love our country through actions”. He motivated students to train their body and develop strength.
Prof. Dr A.P.Radhakrishna ,Vice Principal and Co ordinator of IQAC, St Philomena College, Puttur said, “We obtained freedom from colonal power through great struggle and great sacrifices by many great sons and daughters of this nation. We need to remember all such freedom fighters with gratefulness and celebrate the Independence Day meaningfully”.
The NCC Cadets, Rovers-Rangers, NSS volunteers ,Red Cross Unit and the band troop participated in the march-past. P.U.C students participated in the rally . Students of Fine Arts Association of P.U.C and Performing Arts Association of Degree College presented cultural programme.
