PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION 2017-18

Parent Teacher Association of the academic year 2017-18 was held on 15-07-2017 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall in St Philomena PU College, Puttur.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Rev. Fr. Vijay Lobo , Principal in his speech said that parents  play a prominent role in upbringing their children. The overall development of the students is the responsibility of both, parents as well as the institution. He also said about the rules and regulations that should be followed by the students. He gave information about the special classes conducted for the students to be successful in competitive examination.

Mr. Thaltaje Vasnth Kumar, the chief guest of the programme in his inaugural address said that, today we are living in the world of technology. So, students should make use of these technologies to upload themselves with enough knowledge. He advised parents that they should inculcate good habits because children learn a lot from their parents. At the same time parents should guide their children whenever they go away from the track. He also advised parents to spend time with their children.

Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and the Chairperson of PG studies said that parents are the role model to their children and so they should inculcate good manners and avoid unnecessary things like mobile phones, T.V. etc. Parents as well as lecturers should give importance to the overall development of the children.

Dr. Suryanarayana K, PTA President, in his speech said that the lamp should be oiled properly to make it burn bright. Likewise, students should be given good environment, so that they would become good citizen.

Very Rev. Fr. Alfred J Pinto, Correspondent of the college said that the parents should give keen importance to their children. He also said about the Diamond Jubilee Celebration that is going to be held in this academic year 2017-18. He also said about the various developmental projects that is to be undertaken during the period and along with these he also stressed that importance should be given to the overall development of the students.

Mr. Durgaprasad Rai was elected as the new president of PTA for the academic year 2017-18 to 2018-19 and he expressed his happiness and gratitude for being elected as the new PTA President.

Mr. Anil kumar, Treasurer of PTA presented the report of the academic year 2016-17. 16 outstanding students were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance in the year 2016-17.

Mr. Prashanth Bhat P., Secretary of PTA welcomed the gathering. Mr. Anil Kumar, Treasurer of PTA proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Usha Yashavanth, Dept of Kannada compeered the programme.
