He came, He saw, He conquered the hearts of many. St Philomena P.U. College Puttur bids Adieu to the Principal, Rev Fr Vijay Lobo after his 11 years of dedicated and committed service.
St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur has seen many Principals come and go. Their work span is etched on plaques or in sheets for prosperity. Every individual is valued for their contribution in the growth of the institutions, as they did their part in times of need and thereby glorified God’s mission of educating every individual.
This time was the turn of Rev Fr Vijay Lobo ,the Principal to bid adieu to this institution as the Principal of St Philomena P.U. College. His impeccable service of 11 years brought him the love and admiration.
A closed yet a beautiful programme to bid farewell and felicitate the Principal, Rev Fr. Vijay Lobo was held on 20th May 2022. A warm welcome was braced by Rev. Fr StanyPinto , Campus Director and Lecturer in Dept of English, St Philomena College. MrGovind Prakash, Dept of Computer Science briefed on the service rendered by Rev Fr Vijay Lobo and Mrs Ashwini K , Dept of Chemistry read the honorary citation which read as follows,
“A job well done indicates a person’s efforts, loyalty, commitment and dedication and is always a source of inspiration”.
Very Rev Fr Lawrence Mascaren has, Correspondent in his presidential remarks said that Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo is a person whose contributions and generosity needs no preamble. Under his able leadership, the Institution realized its motto of “Faith and Service “. His efforts and commitment will forever be etched in the minds and hearts of the students, peers, faculty, and his countless admirers.
Very Rev Fr Gerald D’Souza , former Correspondent and Secretary of CBE said that Rev Fr Vijay Lobo – by his determination, strength of character, honesty, humility and seemingly endless energy was a major factor in the success. A person who pursued his dreams and embarked on a journey, in which his determination and resolve, proved to be an antidote to the afflictions of many. He won the hearts of many by setting an example of dedication and treading steadfastly with a calm demeanour to steer the crisis in various situations. In his chair, he groomed new staff members and students to head various positions.
Rev Dr . Antony PrakashMonterio ,Principal, St Philomena College said that Rev .Fr Vijay Lobo has held the banner of the Institution high. His expert touch and perception turned St Philomena P.U. College into one of the best institutions growing beyond expectations.
PTA former President ,ProfSoorya Narayan said that the words of assurance and wisdom given to everyone by Rev Fr Vijay Lobo was immeasurable . He has helped the institution sail through rough weather, helmed the stern bringing it to calmer seas especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. By his well-planned strategies, improvising, adaptation and formulations he helped the students in breaking records in their academics.
Mr A.J. Rai , President of Alumni Association appreciated the work done by Rev Fr Vijay Lobo and congratulated on being appointed as the new Principal at Anugraha P.U. College, Ujire .
The traditional felicitation programme was bestowed to Rev Fr Vijay Lobo by the members of the Management Committee, PTA Association, Alumni Association and Old students Association.
At this occasion Rev Fr Vijay Lobo thanked everyone who touched his life in making him an able Principal. He thanked the workforce of the institutions for always instilling confidence in him and being a cohesive group in carrying out the mundane works.
