An Awareness programme on Anti Drugs at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.

 

 

St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur in collaboration with Police Department organized an awareness programme on Anti drugs on 8/1/2024 at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur.

DYSP, Mr Arun Nage Gowda ,Puttur Sub Division said , “Drug abuse is a term used for obsessive and excessive use of drugs, is a common problem these days. Regular use of drugs is self damaging. It leads to addiction and causes behavioral changes”.

Circle Inspector, Mr Sunil Kumar said,”Many people have problems in their family and so they get addicted to drugs which seems to be an easy escape from the stress caused due to those problems.Youngsters, particularly are addicted to drug”.

Sub Inspector, Mr Anjeneya Reddy said ,”Drugs are considered as a common problem these days. A large number of people worldwide suffer from this problem.Drugs provide instant pleasure and stress relief; many people start taking drugs as an escape from their painful reality”.

Sub Inspector, Mr Jamburaj said ,” Short-term enjoyment from the drugs can lead to serious long-term problems; this can cause serious health issues and behaviour changes.Many argue that overcoming addiction simply requires willpower and determination; however, this is not the case, and it requires a lot.To get rid of drug addiction, it is necessary to seek professional help and take appropriate medication”.

Sub Inspectors Mrs Bhavani, Mrs Sesamma,Mrs Anjanadevi and other officers were present on the occasion.

A rally was conducted in order to bring awareness among people and students.

Mrs Jyothi M.,Dept of Sociology welcomed the gathering, Mr Bharath Kumar, Dean of Arts Faculty proposed vote of thanks . Mr Sharath Alva, Dept of History compered the programme.
