The Christmas get-together celebration was held at St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur on 19th December 2025.

Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, President and Principal of St Philomena P.U. College, Puttur stated that Christmas is a unique celebration that brings joy to the surroundings through songs, dances and festivities. It uplifts the spirit and encourages values such as kindness and compassion. Christmas represents a journey from negativity to positivity, from darkness to light, reflecting the true intention of Jesus. He further mentioned that although Jesus was often disregarded and not appreciated for his good deeds, he continued to spread positivity. Christianity, at its core, emphasizes humanity and compassion.

The Chief Guest, Fr Marvin Lobo, Assistant Priest, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions, emphasized the importance of values in today’s world. He noted that lecturers should focus on instilling values in students’ lives, especially amid increasing stress and the pressure for high marks. While academic achievement is important, humanity is often overlooked. He highlighted that lecturers have a responsibility to guide students along the right path, teaching them compassion and humanity, following the example of Jesus Christ. He added that educators must strive to uphold and impart the teachings of Jesus in their approach.

The Guest of Honour, Mrs Divya Anil Rai, Vice President of the Parent Teacher Association, stated that Christianity teaches love, kindness and selfless service. She added that it carries a message that inspires people to care for one another.
