Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated with pomp and splendour at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur

Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great enthusiasm and a sense of patriotism towards the state at St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur on 31/10/2022.The programme was organized by Kannada Sangha in collaboration with  Fine Arts Association. 
 
The celebration began by hoisting the flag of Karnataka by the Chief Guest . The Principal, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta in his presidential remarks said, “We need to be proud of being Kannadigas and speak Kannada language with pride as it is our state language”. He  explained the richness of Kannada culture and   Kannada language which brings unity among the people of Karnataka. He said Karnataka state is a state with unity in diversity. The Chief Guest , Mr Suryanarayana B. V.,Rtd Principal, Karnataka Public School, Bellare said,“We are proud to recall the glorious history of our state during the  celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava. The state has the grandeur of leaving its own stamp in India’s literature and obtaining maximum number of Jnana Peeta awards. The citizens of the state are broad-minded, intelligent and bold. Therefore, they have provided their contribution in revolution, co-existence and uplift. They have always shown peace and harmony in their way of life. May the beauty, glory and aroma of Kannada of such a state spread to all the eight directions. May our Karnataka of courageous warriors and litterateurs always remain lively”.
 
The Guest, Rev. Fr Stany Pinto, Campus Director, St Philomena Institutions said ,” In Kannada language, we don’t have silent words and there are more vowels than in English. One more speciality of Kannada language is every word ends with a vowel”. He said that we should be bound to preserve its unique language, land and water and the language should be spoken and nourished. The programme was co ordinated by Mr Rama Naik,Convenor of Kannada Sangha and Mrs Ashwini K,Mrs Divya K, Mr Rama Naik ,Mrs Rashmi P.S. ,Mr Rahul and Ms Joshila M Menezes Convenors of Fine Arts Association. Skit,Dance performance  was presented depicting the richness of the Kannada language and heritage.  Aishwarya(IISEBA ‘A’) welcomed the gathering. Mahi J Hegde(II SCBA) proposed vote of thanks. Srijana(II SCBA) compered the programme.
