International Day of Yoga 

NCC, Sports, Rovers and Rangers unit of St Philomena P.U. College organized International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2019 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

 
The inaugurator Dr. Chethana Ayurveda and Yoga Consultant, City Hospital, Puttur reckoned many benefits of rising early and practicing Yoga. She also pointed out the contribution of Yoga in maintaining fitness and good health. She also said that pranayama teaches breathe awareness and helps to maintain energy, strength and relieves stress 
 
The Chief Guest ,Rev Dr Antony Prakash Montheiro,Campus Director and Chairperson of P.G.Studies said that while all exercise offers physical benefits ,Yoga is unique.  Not only does it provides preventative mental and physical benefits ,but it also teaches breath awareness. 
 
Lt Johnson David Sequeira,NCC officer,Mr Harshad Ismail,Rovers Sout Leader ,Mr Prakash D’Souza andMr Rajesh Moolya , Physical Directors coordinated the programme.
 
Fr Rithesh Rodrigues,Fr Sunil George D’Souza and Sr Flora Machado wardens of boys and girls hostels were present on the occasion.
 
Pranamya C.A. (II PCMB ‘A’) demonstrated different asanas of the occasion.
  
Rev Fr Vijay Lobo , Principal welcomed the gathering. Dr Asha Savithri , Hindi Department proposed Vote of thanks and Compered the programme.
