The College Annual Athletic Meet 2017-18 of St Philomena PU College was held on 11/11/2017 at St. Philomena College Ground.

The Annual Athletic Meet was Inaugurated by releasing the balloons.

Dr. Sharan J Shetty, Asst. Professor, A.J. Dental College, Mangalore, Alumnus, St Philomena PU College, Puttur was the Chief Guest and in his speech he said that it is very important to have co-curricular and extra curricular activities along with the curricular activity. He advised the students to make the best use of the facilities available  in the College. He also said that attitude plays a major role in shaping one’s personality.

Rev Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairperson of PG Studies said that the Real education  is the exercise which moulds our mind, body and soul. Once you learn to co-ordinate your mind, body and soul you will become a real winner. He also said that the Students will learn to control their body in the play ground, learn to control then mind in the class room and in certain respective places they will learn to control their soul and one who learns this will be a real winner.

Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto, Correspondent in his presidential remarks advised students that if they don’t build their dreams some one else will hire them to build their own dreams. He also said that students should have competitive spirit inorder to shape their future. He also said that students should learn to take up risk in life and if they loose it will help them to guide others. Facing challenges and overcoming it, will help them to shape their future.

A very well co-ordinated and disciplined march past was followed by the oath taking ceremony.

Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal, St Philomena College, Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues and Sr. Flora Machado, Wardens of the College, Mr. Oswald Rodrigues, Headmaster of St Philomena High School, Mr. Prakash DSouza and Mrs. Sowmya, Physical Directors and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Fr Vijay Lobo, Principal, St Philomena PU College welcomed the gathering. Mr. Prakash D’Souza, Physical Dirctor proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Ashasavithri, Dept. of Hindi compeered.
